In spring 2020, these notices showed up at every road crossing north of the Shoal Creek Ranger District for miles. I seems disappointing to me. It makes sense to me that a hunter would walk down a trail a ways, turn off the trail, and walk cross country to find game. How is a hunter to know when he is 150 yards from the trail? Why can't he take a safe shot from near the trail? Wouldn't it be better to remind hunters not to shoot across the Pinhoti? Why did these notices suddenly show up? |
