By August of 2020, I had sorted through shelter log books to find people who were trying to do long distance hikes. A flaw of that type of data is that you don't know whether they completed the hike. Sometimes an internet link within the journal entry provided more information. Sometimes I was able to search on the name and find more information.

On Saturday, 1 April 2000, she hiked north to the end of the trail from Salem Church Road to the end of the built Pinhoti. She walked south to Porter Gap by Wednesday, 12 April 2000. The Pinhoti Trail was then about 109 miles, but she followed the Chinnabee Silent and Skyway Loop Trails. Her hike was partly a shakedown for a southbound thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail later that year. Part of her directions for the Pinhoti were the journals of Nimblewill Nomad, a.k.a. Eb Eberhart, who hiked from Florida to Cap Gaspe', Canada, on his "Odyssey of '98."

She was approaching Terrapin Creek Watershed from the north. There had been heavy rain for days. She crossed one rising and swollen creek, then came to another. It was too swollen to cross, so she camped between the two swollen creeks. The water rose until her camp was on a rapidly shrinking island. She was swept away crossing the first creek. She wasn't really packed, and some of her gear was swept away. She spend a cold, wet night in an improvised shelter. Her glasses were gone, and she could not see well.

Chuck / Swamp Eagle found her, and took two trips down the ravine, finding various gear. He hiked north with her over Oakey Mountain to the next road. Chuck's Wife Betty was his driving logistics person, and helped her get replacements for the lost gear, and get back on the Pinhoti.
Nina went on to hike the AT thru SOBO in 2000, also documented in trailjournals.com.

There are many shelter log entries in November 2014. He had done the Georgia Pinhoti, but but entries are out of order, and it's not clear whether he was doing a thru hike of the Alabama Pinhoti.

2014 • 2015 16,000 Mile Strange Loop
According to a 19 June 2014 Reno Gazette Journal piece, Krud's 16,000 mile bike and hike journey was planned to include many parallel side routes along the triple crown trails, with the connections between trails covered by bike. A November 2014 Lower Shoal entry claims he was half done, or 8000 miles in. Oakey Mtn & Laurel entries were made in January 2015. A blog site has been removed from the web. There were no additional useful sources.

Fastest Known Times
There are some who are tough enough to try to hike the Pinhoti faster than anyone ever has. They typically start out as people who do 100 mile footraces on trails for fun. That's a quadruple marathon, and not on a nice flat street or all in daylight. See the website below for all the rules and other information. All these are the Georgia and Alabama Pinhoti combined, 344 miles, so these are thru hikers. The records below are from that site. These 4 record makers averaged 41-60 miles per day. I am a 30,000 mile hiker. I have a handful of 35 mile days, but they were not my plan and I don't want to repeat the experience. These guys are tough...
I'm not sure why self supported FKTs would be slower than those with support. A self supported hiker could stash supplies in the woods beforehand, never spend time talking with support staff, and never miss a connection with supporters.
